Always Laugh at Your Boss’ Jokes and Other Ways to Manage Upward
Wednesday, January 31st – Bellevue
Critical to success and job satisfaction, “relationship with my manager” is typically a top reason why someone leaves an employer. Whether your current manager relationship is good or otherwise, learn how to use influencing skills to manage your boss in a positive, non-manipulative way to strengthen trust, ease frustration, and have more fulfillment at work.
As a result of this presentation, you will be able to:
1. Identify six influencing styles and their uses;
2. Explore common management “mistakes” your boss may make and how you can counter them effectively;
3. Implement communication tips for greater influence, including how to work well with three communication styles your manager may use;
4. Create an action plan with next steps.
You’ll walk away with information and tools to help you work well with your boss, peers, and colleagues that you can transfer to any role with any employer (and use with your friends and family too). Come prepared to be energized and motivated to manage upward in 2018 and beyond!
